3 Things to Have Ready for Your Mobile Notary Appointment

Getting ready for a mobile notary appointment doesn't have to be complicated.

Before your notary arrives, take a moment to make sure you have these three things ready.

1. 📄 Your document

Have the document available for your appointment.

If you're unsure about what should be completed, what should be signed, or what information belongs in a particular section, check with the person or organization that prepared the document.

Your notary can explain the notarization process, but isn't the person to provide legal advice or tell you how to complete the underlying document.

2. 🪪 Your identification

Have your acceptable identification ready when your notary arrives.

Florida law requires a notary to have satisfactory evidence that the person whose signature is being notarized is the individual identified in the document.

Having your ID ready helps keep the appointment moving.

3. ✍️ Your signer(s)

Make sure everyone who needs to appear for the notarization is there.

Florida law does not allow a notary to notarize a signature when the person whose signature is being notarized does not appear before the notary.

If witnesses are required for your particular document, make sure you understand those requirements before the appointment as well.

That's really it.

Document. ID. Signer(s).

Three simple things can make your appointment easier and help your mobile notary get right to the business of taking care of your notarization.

And if you're unsure about something before your appointment?

Ask.

It's much easier to answer a question ahead of time than to discover an issue when the appointment is already underway.
